BANK HOLIDAY MUSIC FESTIVAL PLUS NEWS! To end of May 08

Hello lovelies,

Notice anything different about the newsletters…? : ) Welcome to everyone who has joined up in the last week (and has therefore never had a newsletter and doesn’t know what it looked like before…)

ONE WEEK TO GO UNTIL OUR STOCKWELL MINI MUSIC FESTIVAL!!! We will be holding our 3 day, all day mini music festival on the 24th/25th/26th May with doors from 1pm each day and live music from 2pm until midnight.. the listings will be posted on the website in the next couple of days but we’ve currently got 32 confirmed acts and another 4 slots to fill! We will be holding a BBQ in the garden (come rain or shine!!), with giant connect 4 and dominos plus Laughing Stockwell as usual Sunday evening plus a special Speed Comedy Virgins session on the Monday (email for details of how to get a slot!). You can but tickets online at www.WeGotTickets.com/evenue/1464 (only £5 per day!) or on the door. Entry to the pub and garden is free but a ticket will allow you in the venue to watch the music.

You may be wondering where my usual list of events are… well, they’re all on a lovely calendar on our website! You can now see all our listings here www.thecavendisharmsstockwell.co.uk/event.htm and you can find out more about each listing by clicking on the link on the calendar. Just a couple of things we’re particularly excited about though…

Tonight is FREE MUSIC FRIDAY which is a new monthly night which allows great bands and acts who are maybe new to the scene and haven’t as yet built up their audience to come and play with no pressure to bring a certain amount of people to see them… we will however be putting on up to 12 of these acts (therefore creating an audience) each playing 4 songs and charging you absolutely nothing to come and see them! It’s a great opportunity if you like to see new music in a nice venue… and for free! (we also still have a couple of slots left for bands tonight… if you’d like to play, let me know!)

We are very pleased to welcome THE ELECTROACOUSTIC CLUB who are doing a one off special event on Saturday 31st May before starting a monthly Friday night event from July. We also have a slightly different open mic night this week (Tuesday) as we are holding a showcase in the venue so the open mic will take place in the pub area. There will be an extra SJ PRESENTS night on Friday 23rd May with our normal monthly nights from Monster Bands, Scratch Improv comedy show, Synthetic live electro music and club night and another special event hosted by 14 Carat Grapefruit on Friday the 30th…

See www.thecavendisharmsstockwell.co.uk/event.htm for details of events or www.myspace.com/thecavendisharms for details of artists.

Happy Friday!

Love
